Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in Clinical Trials
3CTN developed the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Framework and Toolkit to support sites, clinical research staff, sponsors, and funders in accessing information and resources focused on improving and sustaining equitable and inclusive best practices for underrepresented populations in clinical trials.
The EDI Framework recommendations were developed to help members identify meaningful opportunities in their efforts to improve equitable access to, and involvement in clinical trials among underrepresented populations and enhance the diversity and inclusiveness of Canada’s clinical research community. The Toolkit was designed to allow users to identify available resources, templates, and guidelines associated with each set of recommendations in order to implement best practices that are most relevant for overcoming local challenges.
3CTN recently launched a Request for Application (RFA) for 3CTN-member Cancer Centres to develop and implement a project concept designed to advance EDI best practices in clinical trials conduct in Canada. Interested member sites are invited to apply for funding of up to $20,000 per project to help mobilize necessary project resources and collaborators and enable activities to be completed over the remainder of current 2024-2025 Fiscal Year. Additional information can be found in the EDI Demonstration Projects RFA Guidelines. Please email info@3ctn.ca for the Application Form.
